The Schwarzenbergs are a Bohemian and German noble family, originally from the central Franconian town of Seinsheim in Bavaria, where they were first recorded in 1172. The Schwarzenbergs are one of Europe's prominent noble families and have played an important role in Czech and German history, achieving the titles of princes in the Holy Roman Empire and princes and dukes in the Kingdom of Bohemia.
