Přemyslids

The Přemyslids were the first Bohemian princely and royal dynasty (so called from time immemorial until 4 August 1306), they also ruled in the Austrian lands (1251-1278), Poland (1300-1306) and Hungary (1301-1305). In the minor (left-side) Opava line, the Přemyslids died out (after the sword) in 1521.

The Přemyslids were the only original Czech ruling dynasty. In the person of King Wenceslaus III, the family died out by the sword and the royal line was thus transferred to the Luxembourg dynasty and other families by the marriage of Přemyslovna Eliška to King John of Luxembourg. In the Bohemian lands (with the exception of George of Poděbrady) there were already rulers with origins outside the native families.

Interactive derivation from Eliška Přemyslovna back to the Czech forefather and also further to the descendants (Charles IV, Wenceslas IV, British Queen Anne - wife of Richard II, etc.)

The beautiful graphic elaboration of the Premyslid family trees and their relationship to the Luxemburgs, Czernins, Lobkowiczs, Sternbergs, Schwarzenbergs and others can be found on the canvases from the exhibition of genealogical studies by Jan Drocar to celebrate the 700th anniversary of Jan Lucemburský and Eliška Premyslovna.
