We are the company ALTAMENTE, s.r.o. located at Padovská 585/6, Horní Měcholupy, 109 00 Praha 10, ID No.: 279 36 210, which operates the website www.globalfamilytree.org, which you have probably visited and therefore have accessed this document.
We will continue to refer to you in this document as "Controller" (or "we" to make the document easier to read) and we will refer to you as "you", sometimes also as "data subject").
When you visit our site and browse, two things happen in the course of this activity - the storage of cookies and the processing of personal data (especially if you fill in any of our forms).
In view of this, we are the so-called data controller and have a kind obligation to inform you about how we process your personal data.
Thus, you will find two things in particular in this document:
In the virtual world, the term cookie is used to refer to a small, short text file that is stored in your browser when you visit a website. This small and short file then gives us information about, for example, what browser you use, what language you prefer and allows us to display the website in a way that is pleasant for you.
In addition, there are other types of cookies, such as advertising cookies or analytics cookies, which allow us to generate aggregate statistics and thus to adapt our site to make it more enjoyable for everyone.
Cookies can be divided into several different types, the most important for us being the following:
Cookie type | Explanation |
Essential | Necessary cookies are those without which a website would not work on your browser at all. In principle, such cookies are not even covered by the legislation on the storage of cookies (but see below). |
Analytical | Analytical cookies help us to understand how users use and interact with our site. Basically, they allow us to collect innocuous data about who uses our site and how they use it. |
Advertising | Advertising cookies allow us to serve you relevant ads by remembering who you are and what you like. |
Other | There are many other small categories of cookies that can be used for different purposes, but there is no point in discussing them in general terms. |
Please see below for the specific cookies we use.

Yes, you can refuse the storage of cookies and subsequently delete them by selecting your browser settings. You can find instructions for the most commonly used browsers here:
The definition of personal data is quite complex (personal data is information about an identified or identifiable person). If we were to simplify it as much as possible, personal data is any information that you have disclosed to us or that we have about you. For the purposes of this document we provide the following examples:
Categories of personal data | Example |
Identification data | Name, surname, etc. |
Contact details | Phone number, e-mail, address, etc. |
Address data | Address of registered office or residence |
Content of communication | Information you provide us with when you send us a message or fill in a form |
Service or product information | In case you order services through us, the information concerning the ordered product, etc. |
The above categories are only examples, it does not mean that we process all the above mentioned personal data about you. On the contrary, you can find out what personal data we collect about you in the specific cases listed below.
The conditions under which we may process personal data about you are determined by the GDPR. We may (and sometimes must) process your personal data for the following reasons:
You are in full control of how and when we process personal data. Each collection of personal data is preceded by a short sentence in which we tell you for what purposes we will process your personal data.
Filling in the order form:
Purpose | Scope of processing | Legal title | Processing time |
Conclusion and execution of the contract, including related communications | Id; Contact details (e-mail); Service or product information | Necessity for the performance of the contract | For the duration of the contract, no longer than 3 years after the end of the contract |
If you purchase or order something from us, we need some of your personal data to do so. Without it, we are unable to enter into a contract with you or communicate with you further about the performance of the contract.
Filling out the order form of cooperating entrepreneurs:
Purpose | Scope of processing | Legal title | Processing time |
Arranging the provision of a product and service by a third party | Id; Contact details (e-mail); Service or product information | Consent | For the period of consent, no longer than 3 years after the form has been completed |
If you choose to complete an order form to order a third party service on our site, we need your consent to do so. In order for everything to work, we need to pass on your personal data to this third party and we cannot do without your consent.
If you do not provide us with these details, we are unfortunately unable to connect you and send your enquiry.
Contact form
Purpose | Scope of processing | Legal title | Processing time |
Answering an enquiry, including related communication | Id; Contact details (e-mail); Service or product information | Legitimate interest | 1 year from sending the enquiry |
If you contact us via our contact form (or otherwise), we process your personal data. We need this personal data in order to respond to you and communicate with you.
All of this is done on the basis of our legitimate interest in communicating with you.
Marketing
Purpose | Scope of processing | Legal title | Processing time |
Reaching out with our service offer, sending newsletters and related communications | Id; Contact details (e-mail); Service or product information | Legitimate interest or consent | For a period of 3 years from the last contact, or for the duration of the marketing consent |
In case you buy from us, or give us your consent, we will be happy to send you a newsletter or other e-mail from time to time to let you know what is new with us. Such a communication then meets the definition of a commercial communication and we need your consent to send it to you, or we can do this without your consent if you have already purchased something from us in the past.
In this case, the processing of personal data may involve, for example, profiling, where we do not want to send you messages that you are not interested in or that are not relevant to you.
We treat your personal data as responsibly as if it were our own, and in the vast majority of cases only we, or our employees and persons in a similar position, have access to it. In some cases, however, we will instruct another person to process personal data for us, in which case we will have appropriate contracts in place with those individuals. In other cases (particularly in the case of brokerage), we transfer your personal data with your permission to companies whose products or services we broker for you.
Recipient | Reason for disclosure |
Provider of analytical and statistical tools | This provider allows us to create reports to improve our site. |
Service or product provider | If you want us to forward your enquiry to someone, we will pass on your personal data to that person |
Under the GDPR, you obviously have several rights that you can exercise depending on the legal basis on which we process your personal data. Therefore, for the sake of clarity, we provide the following table to help you identify which rights you may or may not be able to exercise (given that not all legal titles are applicable, we take the liberty of listing only the relevant ones):
The right to: | Consent | Fulfillment of the contract | Fulfilling a legal obligation | Legitimate interest |
Access | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
Correction | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
deletion | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
limitations | Yes | Yes | Yes | Yes |
portability | Yes | Yes | No | No |
objection to processing | No | No | No | Yes |

11.1 Right of access
You have the right to obtain confirmation from us as to whether or not we are processing your personal data. If we do process your personal data, you have the right to obtain access to the personal data we process and the right to obtain a copy of such personal data.
11.2 Right to repair
We try to process only the most up-to-date information about you and delete the incorrect information after correction. However, this does not prevent you from asking us to correct personal data that is no longer up to date or is incorrect.
11.3 Right to erasure (right to be forgotten)
If we do not need your personal data, we delete it immediately. However, this does not change the fact that you have the right to have us delete (or anonymise) your personal data without delay, provided that one of the following reasons applies:
However, this right is not absolute, as sometimes we may not be able to delete your personal data, this is in those cases where the processing is necessary:
However, it is quite possible that none of the above cases will occur at all, so you do not need to worry that we will not delete your personal data.
11.4 Right to restriction of processing
You also have the right to have us restrict the processing of your personal data in one of the following cases:
11.5 Right to portability
Although it sounds strange, if we process your personal data by automated means and the processing is based on consent or necessity for the performance of a contract, you have the right to so-called portability. The right to portability guarantees that we will transmit the data you have provided to us in a commonly used and machine-readable format, or that we will transmit the data to another controller that you identify to us.
11.6 Right to object to processing on the basis of legitimate interest
Where we process your personal data on the basis of legitimate interest, you have the right to object to this processing on the basis of a reasoned objection. In the case of such processing for direct marketing purposes, you do not have to justify the request and we will immediately stop processing your personal data in accordance with the GDPR.
In other cases, we have the right to review your objection and assess whether your rights take precedence over our legitimate interests.
11.7 Right to withdraw consent
If we process your personal data on the basis of consent, you are of course entitled to refuse and withdraw your consent at any time. In this case, we will not continue with further processing and, unless we are prevented by law from doing so, we will delete your personal data.
However, if we also process your personal data on the basis of another legal title, we are not obliged (sometimes not even allowed) to delete the personal data.
11.8 Right to lodge a complaint with the Office for Personal Data Protection
If you believe that we are processing your personal data unlawfully, you are of course entitled to lodge a complaint with the supervisory authority, which is the Office for Personal Data Protection (www.uoou.cz).
You can exercise your rights easily by emailing [email protected] Please note that we must first verify your identity.
